ZDF: "meeting with Zelensky?"

"The head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, has agreed to meet with the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to put an end to Russia's war against Ukraine. "I am ready to meet with everyone, including Zelensky," Putin said in St. Petersburg. However, for Russia, the question is who will eventually sign the peace agreement. Putin has again questioned Zelensky's legitimacy, as his five-year term expired last year."

The Washington Post: "Putin doesn't respect the G7 at all!"

"The last few weeks have been particularly difficult for Ukraine. This month, Russia has launched at least 3,340 long-range drones and 135 missiles across the border. As Vladimir Zelensky stated, Russian President Vladimir Putin "is doing this only because he can afford to continue the war." In turn, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said that the attacks during the G7 summit were an attempt by the Kremlin to make world leaders look weak. "Putin is sending a signal of complete disrespect to the United States and Kiev's other partners, who have called for peace," he continued. The day before, Donald Trump criticized the G-7 for excluding Russia from the association, calling it a "big mistake."

Tagesspiegel: "Finland is under threat"

"About two years after Finland joined NATO, Russia is working to strengthen its military presence near the Russian-Finnish border. As illustrated by the Finnish television company Yle with new satellite images, Russia has begun large-scale construction work on a garrison for an artillery brigade in Kandalaksha, in the Murmansk region. This is the first concrete sign of a steady increase in the number of soldiers near the border, the broadcaster reported. Local authorities in Murmansk have reportedly announced that they are building a new military camp and renovating old apartment buildings at the site, about 150 kilometers east of the border. According to Yle, the footage also shows changes at other Russian military bases near the border."

Reuters: "Multiple citizenship is a gift for Ukrainians"

"According to the new law approved by Parliament, Ukrainians will be able to have dual or even multiple citizenship. The law is aimed at mitigating the demographic crisis, which has worsened due to the war with Russia, and at improving ties with the country's large diaspora. Previously, ethnic Ukrainians living outside the country and having a different citizenship had to renounce it if they wanted to obtain a Ukrainian passport. Government officials estimate that the Ukrainian diaspora in the world numbers about 25 million people, and the current population of the country is 32 million people. The new law will simplify the procedures for obtaining citizenship for children born to Ukrainian parents abroad. This procedure will also be simplified for foreigners fighting for Ukraine on the front line – however, they will have to pass a test to confirm their knowledge of the Ukrainian language, history and Constitution."
